Sharing messages with other teachers is simple and versatile. You can share messages via various means such as email, text, WhatsApp, or phone, either at the moment of composing the message or during an ongoing conversation.
To share a message, start by crafting your message. First select who the message is regarding. Even for teacher only message a group of students or individual student must be selected.
Then click teachers-- this action will automatically fill in all the teachers listed on the recipient's schedule from your SIS.
If you need to include or remove teachers, simply backspace or click them to delete or search for their names to add.
These teachers will get your message as well (through email).
You can also share the message (or share it with more teachers) after the thread is created by clicking the share button to the right of your reply.
You can allow whether or not the teachers on the message can view the recipient responses by selecting "Enable shared teachers to see all replies". This will allow all shared teachers to see responses guardians or students send back to your original message.
Who gets and can see your shared message?
When you send a message within ReachMyTeach, each message is sent individually. It is NOT cc’d or bcc’d. So each student/family what other parents/students receive the message will not know who else gets it.
You can also share a message with other teachers at your school. When you select teachers when you create the message, you will have the option to include them on replies: When Enable Shared Teacher to see all replies is off--- default this is off.
When enable shared teachers to see all replies IS NOT selected this is the TEACHER VIEW:
All teachers will get a copy of the original message. It will inform them that they are shared (and who else is on this shared message. They also will be told their reply goes ONLY to the original teacher.
- If a student/family responds, the shared teachers will not see these replies.
- If any teacher responds, it goes just back to the original sender. The other teachers and students/families on the message can not see the reply.
When enable shared teachers to see all replies IS selected.
All teachers will get a copy of the original message. It will inform them that their reply will be sent to the original teacher and all teachers can view the message on RMT.
- If a student/family responds, the shared teachers will see these replies.
- If any teacher responds, it will be emailed back to the original teacher. The other teachers (but not students/families) on the message can see the reply.
- Note, in all these examples, if there are limited numbers of shared teachers or few recipients, it will also email them the message.
