When class rosters are imported from your SIS (Student Information System), the classes may come over with the original names as they appear in the SIS. Sometimes, these names might not be immediately recognizable or user-friendly. Here's how you can adjust these class names to make them more understandable:
Steps to Adjust Class Names:
-
Locate the Class Group:
- On the left-hand side of your dashboard, find and select the group or class whose name you want to change.
-
Edit the Class Name:
- Once you've selected the group, look for the “Edit” option. Click on it to open the editing menu.
-
Adjust the Name:
- In the editing menu, you will see the current name of the class. Modify the name to make it more recognizable or descriptive.
-
Save Changes:
- After making your adjustments, be sure to save the changes so the new name is reflected in your platform. You can also share the course with a co-teacher or other staff member.
Tips:
- Use consistent naming conventions that everyone in your school is familiar with.
- Include details like the grade level, subject, or teacher's name if that helps with recognition the name is shared with guardians and students.
- You can also export a list of your students by clicking "export students" under edit and share.
