ReachMyTeach has multiple levels of permissions for communication. Split into categories:
Within each level of permissions there is nuance.
Admin
Admin will give that educator access to view all communications in their school or district, depending on their association with a school or the district level.
If they are attached to a specific school they only have insights to that school's communications. Admins can edit staff and students, and elevate others permissions.
If broadcasting is turned on admin will have the ability to broadcast.
Admin + are the technology administrator of the district/school who have full privileges to do all of the above plus elevate other admin.
Admin + can also upload external staff and coaches.
Teachers
Teachers have access to message any student in the school they work in, unless your school has restricted it to just students in their class. Teachers general accessibility is to email, text, call. They can update their preferences around out of office and email forwarding. However, admin can assign teachers different classifications to allow them to have elevated messaging abilities such as:
- Show Grade Groups: will give an educator access to grade level communication within your school. If they are district level they will be able to access all grades.
- Show All Classes: will give them access to every class within a certain school. If they are district level they will be able to access all classes in every school.
- District Access: will give an educator access to the whole district, meaning they will be able to access any family/student in the district. This can be useful for someone like a speech pathologist that works in multiple schools.
External staff
External staff are staff that do not need access to messaging families, but do need to get alerts from the school. External staff can be added to messages/broadcasts, but will be unable to contact guardians. To learn more about uploading external staff click here.
Coaches
Coaches are uploaded similarly to external staff, but given the coach designation. A staff member of a school district can create and share a group/team with a coach. The coach will then only have the ability to message that specific group and no other staff/guardians.
