There are a number of reasons why a contact may be unreachable. However, there are different ways to evaluate what may be the cause.
The FCC requires that communications allow for families to unsubscribe from messages, a number/email that is no longer in service, an international number, or messages are going to spam.
Check your sent folder for message delivery status or message data, if there is an issue with delivery it will be indicated by a red exclamation mark. If an alternative method was used, hover over the "!" to note a successful send did occur. Learn about interpreting message data here.
Contact Unsubscribed
Contacts can unsubscribe from communications by responding stop (per FCC regulation) or changing their preferences. With contact's permission you can reinstate them receiving communications by editing their contact information. Click the student ID card in the upper right hand corner and select "student contacts"
Search for the contacts name. You will notice the email or number will be greyed out. With the contacts permission you can restart their communications by clicking the "send user emails" or "send user texts" checkboxes.
Number/Email No Longer In Service
Unfortunately, there is not much ReachMyTeach can do. You will see a number that is no longer used in your unreachable contacts list or it will be marked red with a pause button next to it.
We suggest using what contact information is useable to ask the recipient for a new contact method.
International Number
Some numbers may be international numbers. At this time, ReachMyTeach only supports US numbers. Please ask the recipient if they would be comfortable using WhatsApp. If you know they have WhatsApp you can communicate with the number that way. Here is how to update that preference.
Messages are going to spam
If messages are found in spam please as the user to mark messages from schools.reachmyteach.com as not spam.
