Whether you are calling about an open house or a school closing ReachMyTeach has you covered. Broadcast is the only way you can mass call, text, and email to all staff and guardians. With the broadcast feature staff will also get a text, unlike with shared communications with teachers with standard communication.
Districtwide alerts and broadcasting are easy to being from your dashboard, select "new broadcast"
or you can select new message from your inbox:
Administrators will have the ability to call their whole district and staff at the click of a button.
Begin by creating a new message and selecting the "broadcast" button.
Select the phone icon to send a mass phone call, text to send a mass text message, or the email to send a mass email message. You can choose to send all three.
If you click "allow replying" recipients can text or email you back. The default does not allow recipients this option.
Select your district name, or a specific school, and then choose your desired recipients. The district will automatically show up, however, you can also use the group selector to narrow down by building, language, and/or grade.
Select your recipients students, Guardians and/or teachers. You can send a teacher only message, but you must still select the school or grade for which the message is about, then select teachers.
When sending a message to the district "external staff" will appear. This is messaging to all members of your community like bus drivers and crossing guards. To update external staff click here.
Either type or record your message. If you type your message the call will be a robo call. If you choose to record your message it will play your voice.
When using the system, it will transcribe your message. Ensure you update the grammar, as the transcribed text becomes the body of the text/email and is used for translation.
Note: For longer messages, we recommend sending a brief initial call/text indicating a more detailed email to follow.
Example:
- Initial text/email: "A water main break has occurred. No school today. Please check your email for tomorrow's plan."
- Follow-up email: Send a separate, detailed email with more information and instructions for the following day.
Follow the progress of your sent message by going to your sent folder click the message to see the progress of your message.
If you notice that certain calls were placed despite not selecting phone as the communication method, it is likely because those numbers belong to landlines. As landlines are unable to receive text messages, we send them as calls instead. More about message data here. This data can be downloaded as a CSV.
